PLM Series: Collaboration Across the Digital Thread

If you’re like most manufacturers, the speed in which you need to develop and get products to market has never been faster. If the lack of cross-discipline collaboration is getting in your way, you should attend our virtual event series in June, Collaboration Across the Digital Thread.

During this four (4) episode series, global leaders like Bosch, Cellcentric, Vestas , and ZF will discuss how they are utilizing the digital thread to connect their network of engineers and non-engineers across the organization. You will come away with concrete steps to take for improving collaboration across your global teams. Plus you will have the opportunity to gain insights into today’s latest emerging technologies and how they can be utilized to drive additional product development improvements.

PTC License Management Experience Working Group Open!

PTC is in the midst of transforming its commercial and licensing experiences to be customer-centric, which is a marketplace expectation of leading software subscription companies. They are seeking customer and partners with experience managing PTC licenses for their organization to review the designs, click through the prototypes, and provide feedback on the improvements and ease of use.

PTC will use this community’s feedback to iterate on our designs and to improve the implementation (6-9 months).

PTC University Updates

Are your models leveraging the full power of Creo Parametric? Several new capabilities have been released and extended recently, and if you want to learn more about them, what better way than to take a class with PTC University? PTC University offers three-hour sessions delivered on a regular schedule so that you can harness the power of Creo Parametric.

Multibody design was released in Creo Parametric 7.0. Before multibody, when solid geometry from multiple features intersected, the geometry was merged. If you didn’t want the parts to merge, you had to model using surfaces. Creating multibody models simplifies part design for intersecting solid geometries by allowing you to select merge, subtract, or intersect. The tools introduced make part design easier. Multibody is also used in selection, applying materials and appearances, Topology Optimization, Generative Design, Additive Manufacturing, and more! To learn how to use the features, register for the Creo: Multibody Design class.

Model-Based Definition (MBD) has been around since Creo Parametric 4.0. It enables you to embed all the necessary manufacturing data directly into your 3D models, rather than relying upon annotations from 2D drawings. Thus, the 3D model is the single source of truth for your extended team and even downstream suppliers. This prevents costly errors, streamlines inspection, and saves time. To get started, take the Creo: Creating Annotations Using Model-Based Definition class.

AI-driven Generative Topology Optimization was introduced in Creo Parametric 7.0. You define the design requirements, and through AI, generative design automatically creates optimal designs. It’s fully integrated into Creo Parametric, and results in more optimal designs than you could conceive in a fraction of the time. Want to learn how to use it? Sign up for Creo: Generative Topology Optimization.

If you’re interested in all these classes, you should consider signing up for a LEARN Online Subscription, so you can take these classes and any others in the Creo Training Catalog. PTC University will be releasing several more classes before the end of the year, keep an eye out!
